June 16, 2022 | 12 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Volunteers are at the core of our organizations. They are often the founders of charities; provide valuable oversight and direction as board members; are the driving force behind fundraising events; give generous financial support and solicit contributions from others; and, help in offering services to the community.

Canada has seen a net loss of 100,000 volunteers over eight years. The percentage of volunteers who are actively involved in charities has been decreasing at an alarming rate, despite the country’s overall population growth.

Furthermore, Quebec has one of the oldest populations in the world.

Based on meetings with professionals in volunteer management, this conference will:

  • Explore the rights and obligations of organizations toward their volunteers.
  • Examine different practices, including:
    • recruitment
    • recognition
    • the vision of the relationship between employees and volunteers

The future of volunteers in the charitable sector depends on our being open to others and potential partnerships we can develop. Inclusion and recognition are key, and it is our responsibility to ensure make it happen.

Session offered in French, Q&A in French and English.
