Since 1986, November 15 is National Philanthropy Day!
Each year on this date, over a hundred AFP chapters organise events across North America. AFP Quebec marks the occasion by awarding its prestigious Excellence in Philanthropy Awards, which celebrate the leadership and extraordinary community involvement of exceptional individuals, businesses and organisations.
Non-profit organisations registered in Quebec are invited to nominate their donors, volunteers and/or employees for an Excellence in Philanthropy Award. Nominations are received by the Awards committee and forwarded to a jury made up of leaders from various fields of Quebec society, including former laureates. Following a process of evaluation and deliberation, the winners of the eight award categories are invited to an awards ceremony on National Philanthropy Day in the presence of the members of the jury and other guests.
The Excellence in Philanthropy Awards program allows non-profit organisations in Quebec to pay tribute to the exceptional individuals and companies that make a significant difference through their volunteer involvement, philanthropic efforts and generous donations. This program also allows the Association to highlight the essential contribution of devoted individuals and companies to the field of philanthropy in Quebec.
