Dear AFP Quebec chapter members,
I’m writing about an important opportunity to impact the government’s agenda at a crucial time. As you know, a federal election has been called for September 20. We have an opportunity to raise the profile of our sector’s important work during this election.
We are asking AFP leaders in Canada to take action during this election period.
👉 Our priorities for this election are to advocate for:
1️⃣ A “home in government” for the nonprofit and charitable sector;
2️⃣ An equitable recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our Government Relations Election Readiness Working Group has prepared a toolkit to support you in your advocacy efforts, including background information on our election priorities.
👉 There are three things you can do to make a difference between now and September 20:
1️⃣ Engage local candidates in conversation about how they will advocate for the sector if elected (at the door or during debates);
2️⃣ Share AFP’s messages on social media;
3️⃣ Contact your chapter to have AFP’s message shared with all members via email and social media.
AFP boasts over 3,000 members in Canada. By mobilizing our chapters and our networks, we can ensure that charities and nonprofits can serve their communities effectively today and in the future.
Thank you,
Sean Zikman MBA
Director AFP – Quebec Chapter
