When Nezha Solgui left her home country to settle in Canada in 2008, she arrived with a heart full of hope and a deep desire to build a new life. Like many newcomers, she was searching for her place and a community that shared her values. That’s when she discovered the Certificate in Philanthropic Management at the Université de Montréal. It was a revelation. For the first time, she realized it was possible to make a career out of helping others in a meaningful way. Philanthropy became more than a profession—it became a vocation.
Her journey began at Institut Pacifique, where she spent nine years working in fundraising to support programs that prevent violence and promote peaceful conflict resolution among young people. This experience left a lasting impression: she witnessed how generosity could be transformed into concrete actions that change the lives of children and families.
She then continued at the CHUM Foundation, where she discovered the power of philanthropy in healthcare. Contributing to initiatives that brought together research, patient care, and donor generosity was a profound source of inspiration. Each project showed her how financial support could translate into tangible progress and bring hope to patients and their loved ones.
Today, Nezha continues her mission at CECI, working alongside a passionate and committed team. Her role focuses on mobilizing resources and building bridges between partners, communities, and international causes. Each project reminds her of the strength of solidarity and the ability of every person to contribute to a more just world.
More recently, Nezha joined the organizing committee for AFP Québec’s National Philanthropy Day 2025, an opportunity she embraces with enthusiasm: “It’s a wonderful chance to learn, to share, and to contribute to a collective project alongside passionate people. For me, philanthropy is, above all, a story of trust and shared values.”
To those considering getting involved, she offers a simple but powerful message: “Start where you are, with what you have. Even a small gesture can have a big impact. Philanthropy is not only about great means—it’s about great hearts.”
Outside of her professional life, Nezha finds energy and inspiration in simple moments with her family and loved ones, her greatest source of motivation. She remains convinced that every gesture matters and that, together, we have the power to build a better future.
