William brings passion, energy and tenacity to everything he does.

 

 

  

As a partner of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, a leading Canadian law firm, he operates a market leading commercial litigation practice for a wide range of clients, including leading Canadian and foreign corporations and government entities. He has decades of experience before the Québec Superior Court, the Québec Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, and has acted as counsel or as an arbitrator in numerous significant commercial arbitrations.

In his spare time, William is a photographer and an author (Portraits of Hope, and The Word, Les Presses de l’Université de Montréal), a founder of the Maryse and William Brock Chair in Applied Research into Stem Cell Transplants, Chair of the Board of Directors of IRIC (Institut de recherche en immunologie et en cancérologie of the Université de Montréal) and Chair or a board number of a number of the other companies involved in cancer research, training and commercialization.

William believes we should all be measured not only by what we have done, but also by what we have given.

Ekat Kritikou

Vice-Dean, Research and Development, Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal

Ekat has travelled a long way across Europe and North America before landing to Montreal. She holds a PhD in developmental and cancer biology from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom and continued her postdoctoral studies in the field of developmental genomics at the University of Zurich, Switzerland.

  

She loves reading and writing and so she then followed her passion and worked as an editor for Nature Publishing Group in London, UK and Boston offices. Appointed interim scientific director at the CHU Sainte-Justine research center (2016-2017) and holding the position of associate director – scientific development since 2017, Ms. Kritikou led the strategic planning of the center and carried out several major philanthropic projects for this institution.

Since her nomination as Vice-Dean, research and development in Oct 2020, she has been leading major strategic initiatives for the Faculty of medicine at Université de Montréal leveraging philanthropic gifts with success at provincial, national and international competitions.
